Fully Qualified Corporate Clothing

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Incorporatewear the UK’s premier corporate clothing supplier is pleased to announce that Alison Kirk has become a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

Alison, a supply chain manager, studied in her spare time for nearly three years to gain the UK’s top professional qualification in procurement.

Now, after a gruelling three-stage assessment process and final exam, she is a fully-fledged member of CIPS.

Her success strengthens Incorporatewear’s procurement team, which sources clothing worldwide to supply the corporate wardrobes of many of Britain’s biggest companies, including, Virgin Atlantic, Nationwide Building Society & Premier Inn.

“I am absolutely delighted,” said Alison, who will officially graduate in July at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. “I’ve had to put in a huge amount of effort to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a recognised procurement professional. It has been a massive challenge while working full time and looking after my young family.

“But it has been absolutely worthwhile. I have learnt so much that I can put into my work at Incorporatewear. For our clients, my qualification shows we are using best practice when sourcing and managing our supply chain. It gives me access to the latest news and techniques in our profession from around the world, so I can contribute to keeping Incorporatewear at the forefront of supply chain innovation.”

Corporate Clothing Experts Incorporatewear Supply Recycled Fleece

Monday, December 20th, 2010

Corporate clothing experts Incorporatewear supply fleece jacket made from recycled plastic bottles to the UK transport group Stagecoach.
A fleece jacket made from recycled plastic bottles and supplied by Incorporatewear to the UK transport group Stagecoach has been hitting the headlines.
Newspapers and magazines across the country featured the story as Stagecoach included the “green” garment in its corporate clothing wardrobe.
Incorporatewear designed and sourced the fleece, which is manufactured from a core fabric of recycled polyester, the plastic commonly used in making bottles and containers.
Chris Wood, Incorporatewear Director, said: “This is an exciting project, and the media interest it has generated has publicly demonstrated Stagecoach’s genuine commitment to the environment. Although this kind of garment is the exception rather than the norm in the corporate clothing market at present, it is clear that sustainability will become an increasingly important aspect of corporatewear procurement.”
Incorporatewear supplies corporate clothing for 14,000 Stagecoach employees.
The transport company has made a commitment to become a “greener” sustainable business.
Managing Director of Stagecoach UK Bus Les Warneford said: “Sustainability is at the heart of our business. As well as working hard to attract more people out of their cars and on to our greener, smarter bus services, we also have a responsibility to become a greener business ourselves. This project is a great example of the benefits of recycling.”
Earlier this year, Stagecoach Group was awarded the prestigious Carbon Trust Standard after taking action on climate change by measuring and reducing its carbon emissions.

Inorporatewear Strengthens Global Sourcing Teams

Friday, December 10th, 2010

Corporate clothing company Incorporatewear has appointed Mark Helders as Sourcing Manager to develop its worldwide network of garment and fabric suppliers.

With 30 years’ experience in garment manufacturing, he will be responsible for ensuring suppliers meet the company’s corporate and social responsibility standards.

He joins Coleshill-based Incorporatewear after a number of senior technology roles in garment supply companies and retail organisations, including Marks and Spencer.

Mark said: “Incorporatewear is a forward thinking company with a firm focus on outstanding customer service. Sourcing globally, including close to home, is crucial so that we can provide our customers with quality fabric and garments as well as flexibility on lead times, order quantities and price.”

Originally from Sheffield, he studied men’s tailoring at Jacob Kramer Clothing College and began his career as a pattern cutter. Most recently, he worked as a technical consultant in Romania for a UK ladies’ tailoring company.

Out of the office, Mark is a nationally qualified kickboxing instructor with a first degree black belt.

His appointment follows a number of new account wins and extended contracts for Incorporatewear, including Virgin Atlantic and easyJet.

A European Union

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Incorporatewear’s operations director Brian Lamb has returned from a trip to Portugal with another client who has opted for European sourcing for corporate clothing.

Brian took a delegation from a UK building society to visit manufacturing facilities, highlighting the benefits from European sourcing that, for many customers, outweigh the relatively higher price.

Incorporatewear now clothes 38,000 wearers in banks, building societies and airlines with corporate wardrobes sourced from Europe.

Brian comments: “It does cost more to manufacture in Europe compared with the Far East, and cost is always an important factor, but European sourcing provides speed of supply and levels of flexibility that are highly valued by many clients.”
“When ordering from Europe, we are looking at lead times of a few weeks rather than several months. Minimum order quantities are significantly lower too.”

Dual sourcing between The Far East and Europe provides the UK’s premier corporatewear supplier with confidence, should disaster strike in one area they can rapidly switch production to another factory outside the affected area.“If the alternative supplier is the next-door factory, there may still be a problem so having an alternative supplier in Europe is a prudent option,” Brian explains.

Incorporatewear continues to develop close partnerships with agents and manufacturers in Europe where it produces corporate clothing for key clients.
