Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

Incorporatewear, the UK’s premier corporate clothing company is proud to announce that its staff have raised a fantastic £1170 for the charity Ataxia UK.

This year the fund raising activities were led by Internal Account Manager, Lyndsey Hawkes and Customer Service Manager, Diane Wiles and included:
• Dress Down Day
• A Cake Sale
• Spring Raffle
• Sweets in a Jar
• Easter Egg Raffle

In addition to these events staff from Incorporatewear took part in a sponsored “Zumba-thon”. Zumba is a Latin dance-inspired fitness program choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez during the 1990s.

Zumba’s choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts, and some Bollywood and belly dance moves.

The team from Incorporatewear plus a further 60 attendees “Zumba’d” the evening away raising over £1000 from the event.

Incorporatewear would like to thank everyone who took part and helped raise this amazing amount of money.

More than 10,000 people in the UK have a form of ataxia, which affects movement, balance and speech. Ataxia UK is a small charity providing support for friends and family as well as funding research into developing safe, effective treatments. There is currently no cure for Ataxia but the charity is working to find one every day.

Corporate Clothing Adventure

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

A team from Incorporatewear Ltd is set to test itself against the clothing world in a 26 mile endurance event in aid of poverty charity CARE International.

2012 is becoming a year synonymous with great sporting events and achievements, however, the Olympic build up will have to take a backseat at Incorporatewear while it supports its intrepid team of endurance “athletes” on the Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge.

The event will see teams endure a gruelling 26 mile adventure, across multiple disciplines and over some rugged terrain. Kayaking, cycling and running are all on the agenda as the Incorporatewear adventurers negotiate their way across the Dorset coastline, all in aid of poverty charity CARE International.

Team member, Mark Jenkins, Incorporatewear’s Finance Manager, comments, “We have been in the textile industry for most of our careers. Fundraising for a charity that focuses on alleviating poverty in the countries where we have historically made product is a way of giving something back to those communities. It’s also a chance for each of us to focus on a personal challenge that is taking us out of our comfort zones.”

Incorporatewear is keen to support any initiative focused on welfare in the countries in which it manufactures. As the UK’s premier corporate clothing supplier, Incorporatewear Ltd follows rigorous corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and ethical policies and procedures. Staff welfare, living conditions, hygiene and, of course, safety are audited throughout the entire manufacturing process.

The company is keen however to ensure it has a positive impact, where possible, outside its factory walls and initiatives such as the Adventure Challenge provide it with the opportunity to do that.

Mark continues “Some members of the team have worked overseas in the past and have seen poverty first hand, despite initiatives by employers to relieve this. Charities such as CARE not only raise awareness of such circumstances but can efficiently direct resource into projects and areas that are the most relevant. This certainly was a factor in the team taking part in this event and also for Incorporatewear supporting us in this.”

Mark and the team are well on their way to raising their target amount but would appreciate donations however large or small to www.justgiving.com/incorporatewear. The event takes place on Saturday the 26th May 2012.
